Behind The Brand

Stephanie Blake The Label was formed in 2022, in the quiet aftermath of loss.

After navigating the weight of growing a business through Covid, Stephanie lost her brother — Blake — to cancer. He had always been her greatest cheerleader, speaking of his “little sister” as though she was unstoppable, capable of anything she set her mind to. In business, in creativity, in life — he believed in her without hesitation.

The day he passed was the day she closed the doors to her previous business. In one of their final conversations, she told him she had to let it go. He looked at her and said, “You better figure it out, little girl.”

Those words have lived with her ever since.

Stephanie Blake The Label is her answer.
It is her “figuring it out.”

By combining their names — Stephanie and Blake — she created a brand that carries his heart forward. What began in grief became a commitment to build something lasting. Something meaningful. Something worthy of his belief in her. A legacy not only for his name, but for his children and for the stories that continue through them.

Fashion, however, began long before that.

At six years old, Stephanie’s great grandmother — lovingly called “Mom” — taught her to sew. They made paper dolls together, drawing and cutting imagined wardrobes from whatever scraps they could find. She still keeps the napkin where she first learned to hand stitch.

Though she only had twelve years with her, that influence never left. Even now, every decision carries a quiet question: Would she be proud? What would she tell me to do?

While Stephanie initially pursued a more “attainable” degree in business marketing, the longing to create never faded. Eventually, she left that path and followed the one that had always been calling her — building a life through design, craftsmanship, and storytelling.

Handmade matters here.

In a world moving quickly toward automation and excess, Stephanie believes in preserving the intimacy of making. Craftsmanship allows creativity to thrive. It allows fashion and art to become one. It keeps foundational skills — passed down through generations — alive.

Clothing, to her, should feel personal. It should feel like expression. Like confidence. Like imagination meeting reality. It should move with your life — whether you are dressing for the future you dream of or the quiet comfort you need in the present.

Each collection carries a story. Each custom client brings a new one. Stephanie designs not only garments, but narratives — pieces shaped by emotion, memory, and intention.
